Urgent appointments

These are available on a first come, first served basis, and are only for urgent matters. We start accepting urgent requests at 8am on the day, and stop when we hit capacity.

Urgent appointments are done over the phone, and it is up to the clinician to invite you in.

To request an urgent appointment on the day:

  • phone us on 01253 344544, Monday to Friday from 8am
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Where necessary, you may be requested to send photographs to us prior to calling. This is because our triage service is done by telephone initially. You will be sent a text message containing a secure link to do this.

A new health problem causing major disruption to your ability to do things you would normally be able to do (e.g., attend work or school).

A new health problem that is significantly worsening despite you following advice on how to look after it (e.g. from your care plan, a local pharmacist, or following a consultation with a clinician at the practice).

A health problem you have previously been advised required urgent response.

A health problem that, if left untreated, will cause or risk significant harm to your health.

Non-urgent advice: Important information

We are unable to provide wait times, as this is an urgent service.

Your urgent appointment will be done over the phone initially. The clinician will decide if it is necessary to see you in person.

This service cannot be demanded for non-urgent or ongoing problems.

If you miss your callback from the clinician, it is not always possible to provide another.
